Fruitbatz, A Queer Literary Magazine was founded in Spring 2025 by Mel Alexander, Aiden Fijał, and Danne Wendel. Their goal is to emphasize queer and neurodivergent voices, uplift our community, and publish some good-ass writing. Since their primary goal is to highlight writers of various backgrounds and experiences, Fruitbatz accept Poetry, Prose, and Mixed Media projects! The bolder the concept, the better!
Mel, Aiden, and Danne met through enrollment at Columbia College Chicago and really clicked! While in creative writing classes together, they realized a mutual passion for the editing and publishing world, and brainstormed this magazine. They're happy to see it finally come to FRUIT-ion, and warmly welcome you to this fruity little journal.
